"Art from the heart" is the name of the exhibition that Karekare school contributed to recently in July. It was an exhibition held at Lopdell House for all local primary and secondary students in Waitakere. Once a year the Karekare school submits an unusual and creative piece that usually identifies with the environment.

This year they created a hand sewn and embroidered wallhanging, which featured local plants and animals. It took a few weeks and a lot of patience to make, the kids were constantly sewing whist Bev read to them, but now all know how to use a needle and thread.
